Looking around the office where I work, I am always dismayed at the amount a paper we go through, at the various cleaning chemicals we use and the disposable office supplies we purchase, so I asked our Director of Operations if I could form a committee to green our lovely premises. Being a big recycling advocate himself, he agreed. I then sent out an email to my colleagues asking if anyone wanted to join in with me and was overwhelmed at the response I got. Our President even asked to be part of the committee!
As you can imagine, I have a ton of ideas, some obvious, others not so obvious and I know my fellow Green-Crusaders have plenty of their own too. This is going to be great!
The goal is to have simple policies and procedures in place by April 22nd (Earth Day!) related to energy conservation, recycling practices and other handy environmentally-friendly procedures that we will communicate to the team. Once this is done, I am very confident that the entire company will be on board and will incorporate these into their daily work lives. Everyone has to do their part to protect our lovely planet… even in the workplace!
The Green Team’s first meeting is this Friday afternoon. I’ll keep you posted on the developments.

What a great undertaking! I agree in that we all have to do our part. Whether we work for someone else or own our own business, there are little steps that we can all do.
We recently moved to recycled / reusable shipping materials and it does make a difference.
Keep us posted, please!
